Palmerton man faces multiple charges for having drugs, weapons
A Palmerton man has been charged with possessing a large quantity of methamphetamines and weapons of mass destruction.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Nicolas De La Iglesia of the state police at Lehighton in the case against Jesus Bracero:
On July 28, a woman in the 700 block of Fireline Road, Bowmanstown, reported that she had been involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Bracero, 27, who is also the father of her 1-year-old child,
She said Bracero normally carries a pistol, and also keeps an AR-style rifle on top of a hutch in the dining room. The woman said that Bracero behaves erratically and routinely destroys locked doors in the home, and that on July 27, he threatened to kill her.
The woman said Bracero spent the night in the garage, and would not allow her to enter. She said he has a lot of visitors at the garage, and suspects he is involved in criminal activities with narcotics.
Bracero left the residence on July 28 and was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman.
The woman’s father contacted state police and reported that Bracero had just pulled a shotgun on him when he went to the residence to check on the welfare of the family and his grandson. He said Bracero was pointing a shotgun at him and said, “I am going to kill you (expletive)!”
Because of previous incidents, Bracero is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Bracero admitted to being a user of methamphetamines and having methamphetamines in the work bench in his garage.
Ammunition was found throughout multiple rooms in his primary residence, and in a small locked safe in the tall dresser in the master bedroom along with an identification card belonging to Bracero, a Taurus Ultralite Model 85, .38spi, revolver which was fully loaded, along with two loaded speed loaders.
A loaded Smith and Wesson Airweight was found in clothing thrown on the roof.
A backpack which contained metal knuckles, a stun gun/electronic weapon and handcuffs was found.
Police found a 12g shotgun with a silencer, two suspected explosive devices and a container of suspected flash powder, two white/brown crystalline rock substances that were suspected of being methamphetamines, which had a weight of about 25 grams.
Bracero faces charges on two counts of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another; and one count each of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He also faces charges of weapons of mass destruction; receiving stolen property; manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; make repairs/sell offensive weapons; intentional possession of controlled substance by person not registered; use/possession of drug paraphernalia; manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.
Bracero is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility. Bail was denied. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 30 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.
