A 17-year-old was shot in the leg in the area of the Altmiller Playground in Hazleton Sunday night.

Hazleton police responded to the area for the report of gunshots around 9 p.m., and found the injured teen, who was taken to a trauma center. No other details regarding the incident were released.

The playground is between 12th and 14th streets in the city’s north side, about one block from the Hazleton Elementary/Middle School complex.
