A man driving a vintage car crashed morning in Schuylkill Township. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. in the intersection of Route 209 and Catawissa Street in the village of Tuscarora.
The man operating his vintage 1931 Ford custom apparently lost control while traveling north on Route 209.
He entered the intersection, striking and going over the guide rails in the northeast corner of the intersection. Firefighters of the Tuscarora fire company and members of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad worked to free the man from the wreckage.
Members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics treated the victim before being flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital trauma center in Allentown. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
