Annual Sunflower Festival set for Yenser’s Tree Farm

A third-generation Mahoning Township tree farm has a plethora of golden flowers for all to see.

With that comes the fourth annual Sunflower Festival at Yenser’s Tree Farm, which will take place Aug. 11-13, and Aug. 18-20.

“Our festival has grown over the last few years, and we’re excited to have more sunflowers than ever before,” said co-owner Jan Wentz. “We offer a large variety of sunflowers in a family-friendly environment.”

Wentz said there is no admission charge to visit the fields and go on a hayride. Guests also have access to crafters, food trucks, and their sunflower-filled gift shop. In addition, an activity ticket may be purchased for the Sunflower Maze with photo ops, reindeer train, corn cannon and Farm Fun Zone Kid’s Area.

“This is a great opportunity for guests to experience a working farm and see how crops grow in our beautiful valley,” she said. “Our farm team strives to give guests an enjoyable experience with a large variety of sunflowers.”

Wentz said that the goal “is for guests to enjoy family time in a relaxed farm setting.

“We hope they enjoy the views from our farm and take lots of photos to remember a day with family and friends,” she said.

“We also enjoy sending them home with quality, locally grown flowers.”

Wentz added that guests “can enjoy and take home sunflowers, a symbol of joy and happiness.”

Anyone who would like to visit the farm before its opening may contact her at 570-249-4429.
