State police at Pocono charged James Heffner, 58, of New Tripoli, for public drunkenness after they were summoned at 4:35 p.m. Aug. 2 to the Allentown Service Plaza in South Whitehall Township on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police said they were called there for a report of an intoxicated man and upon arrival identified Heffner as an employee. They said a portable breath test administered to him indicated he had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent.
