Father Paul Welkie, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, announced today Dr. Mohammed Malik, a member of the Gnaden Huetten memorial Hospital staff, Lehighton, has taken up permanent residence at the vacant parish convent.

Dr. Malik, a general surgeon, recently joined the Lehighton hospital staff and will begin his duties on Aug. 6.

He is a native of Pakistan ad came to America in January 1968. Before locating in the Panther Valley, Dr. Malik practiced in Buffalo, N.Y., for one year and later became associated with the Einstein Medical Center and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia.
