Approximately $4,700 in cash was stolen in a theft that happened between 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Monday in Hometown, Rush Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks are investigating the incident that happened on Mahanoy Avenue in Hometown.

A 53-year-old man from Mechanicsburg reported someone removed various denominations of cash from a locked safe on the premises.
