Hayley R. Leverone, 35, of Kunkletown, was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance or alcohol after a one-vehicle crash at 6:57 a.m. July 17 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said she was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when she looked at a text message on her cellphone, causing her to lose control of the car. It struck a utility pole on the right side of the roadway and overturned onto its roof.

Police said Leverone had serious injuries and was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
