The possibility of the establishment of a public library to serve Lansford, Summit Hill, Coaldale and Nesquehoning, was brightened with information secured by Mrs. Agnes McCartney, executive director of the Carbon County Planning Commission, who will convene a meeting of all interested persons tomorrow at the courthouse in Jim Thorpe to discuss the idea.
Mrs. McCartney has been meeting with members of the Summit Hill Women’s Club who are actively engaged in seeking the establishment of the library.
The women’s club increased its interest since the school district turned over the White School Building to the borough. Mrs. Thomas McCready heads the club’s committee on the library project.
