The Rev. James F. Halpin, S.J., a native of Coaldale, will be ordained tomorrow in Barcelona, Spain. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Halpin, formerly of Coaldale. His mother is the former Mary Sharpe of West Ridge Street, Lansford.

The Jesuit is the nephew of James and Helen Sharpe of 207 W. Kline Ave., Lansford.

He entered the Society of Jesus on Sept. 7, 1949, and made his novitiate and juniorate at Shadowbrook. After studying philosophy at Weston, he studied chemistry at Boston College for two years.

Tomorrow’s ordination will be held at the Colegio de San Francisco de Borja, Sant Cugat de Valles in Barcelona.
