Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Included in this time is Service of Healing and Blessing of Prayer Shawls.

In addition, Vacation Bible School staff will be installed.

The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Congregational fellowship follows the worship service in Luther Hall. Please bring a food item to share.

The Service of Healing with prayers are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens to assist and cope with daily living.

Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times as a form of comfort during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost and may serve as a gift to a loved one.

There will be no “Quiet Communion” in August.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please phone the church office. Sessions are by appointment during the summer.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes. Sales receipts support the food pantry. Community Vacation Bible School is Aug. 1-3 at 6-8 p.m. The theme: “Pets Unleashed! Where Jesus Cares Fur Us.” Free preregistration for students Pre-K through grade 6 is available by contacting the church office during business hours. There are student vacancies to be filled.
