Native plant species webinar Wednesday

The Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program is hosting its 4th Annual Native Tree and Shrub Sale this August.

Leading up to the sale, the Master Watershed Steward Program is hosting a webinar to learn more about the fundraiser and the species included this year.

The webinar will review the plants available for sale, discuss selecting plants for your property and conditions, and provide order and pickup information for the August sale. The webinar is from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Planting native trees and shrubs is a good way to turn your landscape into a wildlife wonderland while improving local stream health and water quality. But choosing the best species for your specific landscape conditions can be challenging.

Penn State Master Watershed Stewards and Master Gardeners will use webinar to teach what you need to know about this year’s fundraiser species selection. Registrants can submit questions about choosing the right tree or shrub for their property.

The Master Watershed Steward programs of Berks and Schuylkill counties, Erie County, and the PA Wilds are hosting the webinar.
