Franklin Township Police Log

Franklin Township Police Department released information on investigations. No names of suspects were released in the following cases:

• On May 30 at 11:23 p.m. an erratic driver was reported in the area of Harrity Road and Pohopoco Drive. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Toxicology results show she had a blood alcohol percentage in excess of the testing capabilities of 0.3.

• On June 1, a Franklin Township resident reported being the victim of forgery. The victim’s check was taken without permission, forged, and subsequently cashed. As a result of investigation, a 37-year-old Franklin Township man is being charged with multiple counts of forgery, access device fraud, theft, and receiving stolen property.

• On June 4, a vehicle left Fairyland Road approaching the intersection of Grange Road, shearing off a telephone pole before coming to rest with severe damages. The driver ran away before the arrival of emergency services. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Franklin Township man is being charged with numerous traffic violations.

•? On June 5, a Franklin Township resident reported multiple handguns had been taken from his residence. Multiple suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

• On June 9, a 27-year-old Weissport woman who had a warrant was located in the unit block of Interchange Road. Police said she also had additional amounts of controlled substances and paraphernalia. Charges are pending.

• On June 14, the Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Division reported a prohibited person attempted to purchase a gun at a Franklin Township business on Dec. 20, 2021. A 45-year-old Jim Thorpe man was identified and charges are pending.

• On June 16, a business along Interchange Road reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked on the premise. Between June 13-June 16 someone removed the catalytic converter from a 2001 Ford Expedition. The investigation is ongoing.

• On June 16, a Franklin Township business reported a customer refusing to pay a bill for services rendered in excess of $7,600. Suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

• On June 29, a Franklin Township business reported two suspicious people in their parking area.

Upon contact, a 42-year-old Scranton man and a 37-year-old Scranton woman were found to have multiple warrants from various states and were in possession of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. Subsequently, a search warrant was served upon a vehicle seized as well. Both people have a multitude of charges pending.

• On July 1, a Franklin Township resident reported the theft of Honda walk-behind lawn mower and gas can, valued at approximately $575. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

• On July 3, a township resident reported receiving charges from the New York Thruway Authority. The investigation determined a registration plate from a previously totaled vehicle had been taken and utilized on a vehicle it was not assigned to.

• On July 8, a Franklin Township business reported extensive damages intentionally caused to a rental property. A 37-year-old Lehigh County resident has been identified as a suspect. Charges are pending further investigation.
