Developer proposes 72-home project in Franklin Township

A 72-home development is being planned for Franklin Township.

Franklin Commons is proposed as single-family homes, but Patrick Heller of Rapid Realty Solutions of Collegeville said that someone suggested some town houses in the development.

“We would certainly consider that,” Heller said.

The 97-acre development will be on Indian Hill Road near Spruce Street, and will use public water and sewer. Utilities will be underground, and there will be a homeowners association. The colonial-style homes will begin at $450,000.

“We currently have 32 lots that are half to three-quarters of an acre, 20 lots that are three-quarters to an acre, and 20 lots over an acre,” Heller said.

The next step is for Heller to meet with the planning commission tonight.

“This is a pretty big project right here,” Heller said. “What this does is bring 72 new homes into the township.”

“Once we get township blessing and get needed zoning ordinances, we’ll get into grading, infrastructure, water, sewer, stormwater management, and other areas.”
