Franklin Township fell to Council Rock Holland in the Section 6 8-10 Little League tournament on Tuesday.

SECTION 6 LITTLE LEAGUE

Franklin Twp.-Holland

Nate Reifsneider knocked in four runs to help power Council Rock Holland to a 12-2 victory over Franklin Township in a Section 6 8-10 Little League tournament game.

The winners broke the contest open with a six-run second inning, extending their lead to 9-1.

Reifsneider and Mike Canella both had a pair of hits for Holland, with Canella also scoring a run and adding an RBI. Cole Phillips chipped in with a hit, two runs and an RBI.

For Franklin, Jake Kistner was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Mason Neff finished with a hit and an RBI, while Myles Meek and Bryson Brungard accounted for FT’s other hits.

Franklin Township returns to action today in a loser’s bracket game where it will face Pennridge at 6 p.m. FT edged Pennridge by a 4-3 score in the opening round on Monday. The winner will take on Holland on Thursday.

PVLL TOURNAMENT

Tamaqua 11s-Franklin Twp.

Three Franklin Township pitchers combined on a one-hitter to gain a 10-0 Panther Valley Little League tournament victory over the Tamaqua 11s.

Ethan Laible tossed the first 1 2/3 innings, allowing no hits and striking out three. Garrett Utrata relieved and pitched two hitless innings, fanning a pair. Josh McGinley recorded the final out.

Brock Atwood collected two hits, one a double, and knocked in two runs. Carter Spotts also finished with a pair of hits, a run and an RBI. Laible and Owen Moyer both added a hit and two RBIs, with Moyer also scoring two runs.

For Tamaqua, Cain Conner had his team’s only hit.

BLUE MOUNTAIN LEAGUE

Berlinsville-Easton

Cole Coolbaugh pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Berlinsville Braves to a 3-0 Blue Mountain League victory over the Easton Falcons.

Coolbaugh walked just two and struck out 12 to help the Braves improve to 11-13.

Jim Thorpe graduate Noah Snisky had a hit, stolen bases and RBI for the winners, while Owen Fischl collected two hits - one a double - and an RBI. Kyle Sincavage also contributed a pair of hits and a run.

Easton’s Owen Panovec pitched well in defeat, allowing five hits and three walks while fanning 10.
