The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Tuesday approved a 5% increase in tolls for E-ZPass and Toll By Plate customers that will take effect Jan. 7, 2024.

The price for a most common passenger vehicle will go from $1.80 to $1.90 for E-ZPass customers and from $4.40 to $4.70 for Toll By Plate customers.

The price for a most common tractor-trailer customers will be increased from $14.40 to $15.20 for E-ZPass

The Turnpike Commission is required to increase tolls annually through at least 2053 because of the Act 44 funding plan that required borrowing by 30-year bonds.
