State police at the Stroudsburg barracks were called to a drug overdose at 10:13 a.m. July 11 at the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville.

Police said a 36-year-old woman from Mount Pocono ingested heroin, causing the overdose. She received medical treatment at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono, East Stroudsburg, and was later responsive.

Police said a search of the woman’s cell yielded negative results.
