Dellicker announces run for Congress in 7th District
Kevin Dellicker of Germansville announced his candidacy for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. He is campaigning to secure a spot on the Republican ticket to run against incumbent Susan Wild.
The district includes all of Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton counties and part of Monroe County.
“It’s no secret that Washington is broken. While this level of dysfunction may boost TV ratings and fundraising, it hurts our families and communities. What Washington needs is less talking heads and more leaders who will roll up their sleeves and work to bring common sense solutions that benefit our families and communities,” Dellicker said in a news release.
“I’m not a professional politician. I’m not looking for a new career in Washington. I’m running to protect and expand the Republican majority, get the job done, and then return home to Germansville,” Dellicker said.
Dellicker is the founder and owner of Dellicker Strategies, a technology services company that helps schools and organizations improve their cybersecurity and telecommunications infrastructure. He serves as a military intelligence officer in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and has served four overseas deployments.
Dellicker and his wife Susan have three sons.
He enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 1995 as an infantry soldier and served four years with Charlie Company, 1-111th Infantry in Kutztown. He transferred to the Air National Guard in 1999 and earned his commission as an intelligence officer with the 193rd Special Operations Wing in Harrisburg.
To raise awareness of the unique family support challenges involving part-time military service, Kevin and Susan wrote a book about their experiences: “Twenty-Percent Soldiers: Our Secret Life in the National Guard.” All proceeds go to military-related charities.
Dellicker worked as an environmental policy adviser to the New York state Senate in Albany and economic policy adviser to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge in Harrisburg.
Dellicker ran for the seat in 2022, losing to Lisa Scheller by a little more than 500 votes in the Republican primary. Wild then defeated Scheller in the general election.
