Tamaqua Legion gets new flags

New flags are flying over the CH Berry American Legion Post 173 in Tamaqua.

“Several weeks ago, our Legion realized our Pennsylvania commonwealth flag had become very weathered,” said the post’s judge advocate, Mike Polyak.

The Legion contacted state Sen. Dave Argall, who offered to provide a free replacement flag. And through the efforts of the offices of Argall and state Rep. Jamie Barton, the Legion also received a new American flag to display over the 206 W. Broad St. post home.

The legislators presented the flags to the Legion officials last week.
