Police in Ontelaunee Township, Berks County, are investigating a fatal shooting that happened around 5:45 p.m. Sunday in the township.
In a press release, the department said officers responded to the area of the 300 block of Snyder Road for a domestic-related road rage incident. Police said as officers were en route, information was obtained that there were shots fired and a person was struck.
Police said two vehicles involved in the incident traveled northbound on Route 61 at a high rate of speed before crashing at the intersection of Route 73 after failing to negotiate a right-hand turn.
Police said one of the individuals located at the scene was declared deceased by a member of the Berks County Coroner’s Office. A second person was transported to an area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
