State police at Fern Ridge incidents

State police at Fern Ridge report the following incidents.

• A 47-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, was charged with harassment by physical contact after a domestic dispute on July 1 at a property along Foothill Road in Penn Forest Township. Police said the man punched his wife, a 40-year-old woman from Albrightsville, in the face and fled the scene.

• A dog bit a 47-year-old Albrightsville man in the hand on June 27, resulting in a “Dog Law” citation being issued to an Albrightsville woman.

Police said the dog owner, Jelena Sagiva, 40, was cited after her dog left her property on Penn Forest Drive, Penn Forest Township, and bit the man, who required medical attention.

• Therese Hancock, 56, and Maryjo Dredger, 59, both of Effort, were cited for dog law violations after their dogs went onto another property in Chestnuthill Township and attacked two caged pigs.

Police said it happened July 6 at a property on Barry’s Road in the township. The pigs, who were injured, belong to a 37-year-old man from Effort.

• A man and a woman, both 65 and from Effort, were cited for harassment by physical contact following a domestic dispute on July 6 at a residence at the intersection of Poplar Creek Lane and Service Road.

• Alvaro Onofre Rojas, 45, of Albrightsville, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at July 1 on East Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a Jeep Cherokee that hit a mailbox and tree before landing in a ditch. He was uninjured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Haley G. White, 23, of Saylorsburg, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash June 17 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a BMW southbound and was unable to stop when a Honda Pilot driven by Marcos N. Herbert, 92, of New York, New York, slowed down in front of her. Police said the BMW hit the rear of the Pilot. It had to be towed; no one was injured in the incident.
