State police at Frackville incidents
State Police at Frackville investigated the following incidents recently.
• William Granick, 49, of McAdoo, was cited with harassment by physical contact after they responded to a physical altercation at 9:54 a.m. July 8 on the Lofty Road in Kline Township.
Police said Granick shoved a 59-year-old woman from McAdoo after a verbal argument between them turned physical. No one was injured in the fracas.
• Jacob R. Sponseller, 21, of New Philadelphia, was cited with “driving on roadways laned for traffic” after a one-vehicle crash at 1:36 p.m. July 7 on Route 209 in east Norwegian Township.
Police said he was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 west on the wet road when it went off the road and struck a utility pole. He was uninjured.
Police said Sponseller told them he would make his own arrangements to have the vehicle removed from the scene.
• Troopers were called at 12:41 a.m. July 8 to Market Street in Blythe Township where a woman said her purse had been taken.
Police said the 27-year-old woman from Orwigsburg told them she received her items back. Police said she refused to cooperate with their investigation.
• Jacob M. Hernandez, 21, of Summit Hill, was cited with “vehicle turning left” and driving while his operator’s license is suspended or revoked following a two-vehicle crash at 3:59 p.m. June 27 at the intersection of Claremont Avenue (Route 309) and Dennison Street in Hometown, Rush Township.
Police said he was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Impala south on Claremont Avenue and attempting to turn left onto Dennison Street when it was struck by a northbound 2014 Nissan Altima driven by Daniel T. Odorizzi, 49, of Tamaqua. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene.
Neither driver, nor Dominic A. Defluri Jr., 20, of Summit Hill, a passenger with Hernandez, were injured, police said.
• Troopers were called to investigate a harassment incident that happened at 8:12 a.m. July 3 on Florida Avenue in West Mahanoy Township.
The victim is a 34-year-old man from Tremont who told police he was working as a trash hauler picking up garage when an unidentified male pushed him during an argument. Police said the man fled the scene before their arrival.
• Joshua Longenberger, 28, of Mahanoy Plane, was charged with harassment by physical contact by state police after they were called at 12:24 a.m. July 13 to a residence on Water Street in Gilberton.
Police said the victim is a 58-year-old woman from Mahanoy Plane who they identified as the girlfriend of the father of the arrestee.
Police said Longenberger shoved the woman and hit her in the face during a verbal altercation that began over the victim telling Longenberger to turn his music down as it was too loud.
