Ernesto Islas, 54, of Kunkletown, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance following a two-car crash at 9:47 p.m. June 10 on Interstate 80 in Stroudsburg.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said he was driving a 2011 Volvo eastbound when he failed to slow down for traffic that had slowed ahead of his vehicle. The Volvo struck the rear of a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Benjamin A. Karhan, 51, of Stroudsburg. Police said Karhan came to a complete stop in the right lane of traffic when his car was struck.

Police said the Volvo continued to strike a guide rail before coming to a halt. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.
