The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• Approved a request from the planning director to table the bid award for the Brimble Wall replacement project in Lansford as part of the Community Development Block Grant 2019-2020 years until July 20. The reason for tabling the contract award is to allow for further review by the Lansford borough engineer.
• Appointed Richard Fedor as the Agricultural Land Preservation Board member to the Carbon County Open Space Advisory Board.
• Reappointed Barbara Green, president of Blue Mountain Ski Area/Tuthill Inc., to a three-year term on the Pocono Counties Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act Development Board. Term expires June 30, 2026.
• Adopted the 2023 county emergency procedure and evacuation plan.
• Approved a revision to the Emergency Service Training Center Capital Grant application changing the amount from $65,944 to $69,022 to include thermal imagers.
Personnel
• Resignation: Levi S. Monk of Lehighton, lifeguard, effective June 29; and Tara M. Devitt of Lehighton, part-time corrections officer, effective June 14.
• Change of status: Elizabeth A. Marzen of Lehighton, from administrative assistant to fiscal/legal assistant, commissioners’ office, effective July 10.
