Palmerton Fine Wine & Good Spirits to temporarily close

The Fine Wine & Good Spirits Store in Palmerton is closing for the rest of the summer for remodelng.

Located at 221 Delaware Ave., the store will close at 7 p.m. for the time being by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, according to PLCB spokesman Shawn Kelly.

“Over the last several years, we’ve been going through and refreshing most of, if not all of our 585 Fine Wine & Good Spirits Stores over the state,” Kelly said. “It just happens to be Palmerton’s time to be refreshed.”

Kelly explained what the renovation work will entail.

“There will be a new floor installed, other things refreshed in the store, there may be new shelving, there may be a fresh coat of paint on the wall,” he said. “Those are all the things we’re hoping to do in the store.”

Kelly said the Palmerton location is expected to reopen by the end of summer if everything goes smoothly, though he added there is no set reopening date.

“Our teams will get in there as soon as they can; we realize closing a store even for a short amount of time is an inconvenience,” he said. “We appreciate the patience of the people of Palmerton, and we will get the store reopen as quickly as possible.”

In the meantime, Kelly said customers are encouraged to shop for wines, spirits and accessories at the Fine Wine & Good Spirits Stores at 143 South St. in Lehighton, and 200C S. Best Ave. in Walnutport (Walnutport Shopping Center) during the renovation project.
