Marian FBLA competes in state conference

Marian Catholic’s Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America recently competed in the 2023 Pennsylvania State Leadership Conference which was held in Hershey April 17-19.

Marian had 11 students qualify for the SLC as a result of the Region 23 Conference held in December.

FBLA Conferences include a variety of different competitive events, which include objective tests, creating pre-recorded videos, and/or live interviews.

Members who competed in this year’s conference were: Addison Pan, senior in business calculations; Elizabeth Burkit, sophomore in introduction to business presentation; Jarielys Nunez, sophomore in introduction to business presentation; Madison Biros, freshman in introduction to FBLA; Mia Rinaldi, sophomore in sales presentation; Angela Pan, senior in organizational leadership; Hunter Gallagher, senior in broadcast journalism; Angelo Greek, junior in political science; Lachlan Segedy, junior in graphic design; Emily Eroh, Senior in Graphic Design; and Ryan Berube, senior in impromptu speaking.

Conference attendees are also invited to participate in open competitive events. Angela Pan placed third in Job Readiness, third in Statistical Analysis, and fourth in Financial Literacy.

The award winner for Top 10 was Angela Pan who placed first in Organization Leadership and qualified for the National Leadership Conference.

Special awards and recognition were also given to various school chapters of FBLA.

Marian Catholic High School is honored to have received the Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit, 10th place from The Big 33 Community Service Club for Most Community Service Hours and sixth place in the Local Market Share Award measured by a ratio of students in FBLA to students in the entire school.

Members are advised by Patricia Patton and were chaperoned by Kerra Eroh.
