The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Senior Farmers’ Market Program will be offered again this year to eligible Carbon County older adults.
Each person will receive five $10 vouchers totaling $50 to spend at any farmers’ market or farm stand that participates in the Pennsylvania Farmers’ Market program.
Eligible people must be a Carbon County resident age 60 or older by Dec. 31 and meet the household income guidelines. Total gross annual income must be at or below $26,973 for one person and $36,482 for a two-person household.
Vouchers will not be mailed to anyone. They will be distributed in person only during the scheduled dates, locations and times.
There will be no forms to complete before pick up. People must show their photo ID and sign for their vouchers.
If picking up for a spouse or someone else, complete a proxy form and bring it to the distribution site for that person. Proxy forms are available at all Senior Centers and the Area Agency on Aging.
Distribution schedule:
• July 6 - 9 to 11 a.m., Lehighton Recreation Center, 243 S. Eighth St.; and 1 to 3 p.m., Palmerton Senior Center, 501 Delaware Ave.;
• July 7 - 9 to 11 a.m., Nesquehoning Fire Co., 953 E. Catawissa St.; and 1 to 3 p.m., Weatherly Senior Center, 335 Third St.;
• July 10 - 1 to 3 p.m., Jim Thorpe/Penn Kidder Senior Center Bear Creek Plaza, Route 903, Jim Thorpe, and;
• July 11 - 1 to 3 p.m., the Lehighton Rec Center.
