Injuries were reported Sunday evening in a crash in Rush Township. The accident occurred along Route 309 around 6 p.m. just north of the Ginthers intersection.

Reports from the scene are that a car crossed the roadway impacting with a southbound car. Both cars came to rest on lawns facing west just a few feet from two homes.

The victims were treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance before being transported to a nearby trauma center. The Hometown fire company responded assisting at the scene and maintaining traffic control. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
