State police at Fern Ridge
State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incidents:
• Police were summoned to investigate a Megan’s Law case in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they received an anonymous tip through the law’s public website that someone who is a registered Megan’s Law offender is working at Ideal Property Management under a fake alias between May 25 and 7:52 a.m. June 16. Police learned the company is not listed on the website as a form of employment. Police said the owner related the offender does not receive a formal paycheck from it, rather he is contracted through his own personal company to work at the site. Police said they also learned the alias listed on the website was not provided as an alias on the Megan’s Law registration site.
After consultation with the Monroe County District Attorney’s office, police said in lieu of criminal charges the offender was advised to update his registration to include the company, along with his alias.
• Police are investigating a burglary at 12:11 a.m. May 29 at 293 Valley View Drive, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said someone stole security cameras from the home and then smashed the basement window and ransacked the home.
• A 17-year-old girl from Effort was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after they were called at 6:06 p.m. June 25 to 304 James Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the girl’s aunt told them her niece drove her 2010 Nissan Sentra without her consent.
• A 37-year-old Effort man is facing drug possession and driving under the influence charges after a traffic stop. Police said they stopped him in a 2002 Nissan for code violations on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township, after which time police found him under the influence and possessing a small amount of marijuana.
• Kevin S. Lambert, 38, of Brodheadsville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 9:27 p.m. June 24 at the intersection of Route 115 and Countryside Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
He was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.
Police said Lambert was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
• Police said they were summoned at 11:44 a.m. June 27 to a property at Beaver Drive in Indian Mountain Lakes, Penn Forest Township, for a violation of a protection from abuse order.
No charges were filed.
