A Palmerton man has been charged with threatening to assault borough road crew workers.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Adam Shimer of the Palmerton Borough Police Department against Kenneth Diaz:
Shimer was contacted by the Palmerton road crew who said that a man, Diaz, 44, was threatening them.
Diaz was warned twice on June 19 to stop this type of behavior.
When Shimer arrived he was told that Diaz had started yelling the workers, using expletives, almost as soon as they opened their garages.
Shimer told to stop or he would be arrested.
Shimer then heard Diaz continue to yell and cause a disturbance, and he was taken into custody.
He faces charges on two counts of disorderly conduct, and one count of terroristic threats.
He is in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000, 10% cash bail, and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing July 26 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.
