The Birches pulled out a Legion baseball victory on Friday.

Andrew Meitzler’s single in the top of the seventh inning lifted the Birches to a 2-1 win over Nazareth in NORCO Legion action.

Meitzler’s hit scored John Smale, who opened the inning with a walk. Meitzler went 2-for-3 with a double. Ben Mostosky also had a hit for the winners.

Meitzler retired the side in order with two strikeouts in the bottom of the inning to finish off a complete game, which included seven strikeouts, one walk and just four hits.

Jake Dally (RBI) and Preston Wayne each had two hits apiece for Nazareth, which led 1-0 after three innings. Max Kochenash also went the distance on the mound, striking out eight and allowing three hits and two walks.
