State police at Fern Ridge

State Police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following incidents:

• Police charged a 27-year-old Effort man with harassment by physical contact after they were summoned to a property on Highland Road in Penn Forest Township at 9:14 a.m. June 23.

A17-year-old Albrightsville girl told them the man “moved her leg” while she was working.

• A 71-year-old woman from Effort is out $800 in a theft by deception gift card scheme.

Police said it was reported to them at 8:30 p.m. June 24.

Police said the woman received a Facebook message that claimed FedEx is holding a package and needs to receive gift cards as payment.

The woman told police she purchased two gift cards and provided the card information on them to the person.

• Police said $3,400 was stolen from a 56-year-old Effort man between 7 p.m. May 9 and 5:04 p.m. May 10.

Police said the man reported someone took cash from a tent/shed that was located on his property on Route 115.

• A 22-year-old man from Effort is the victim of theft by deception incident.

Police said they were summoned at 4:40 p.m. June 21 to a property on North Rocky Mountain Drive, Chestnuthill Township, where the man told them he applied for a job, had a telephone interview and then issued a check for deposit to the thief.
