Thomas L. Stonerook of Stonerook & Company, Lancaster, requested Lansford Borough officials schedule time on their July 11 agenda for him to discuss his company’s proposal to build a Rite Aid store in Lansford.

The company offered the borough $1-million-plus and an additional $250,000 for recreational purposes for a section of the land the borough owns in the park in the western section of the community.

Stonerook was scheduled to appear before the council on Thursday to detail the company’s proposal, but informed the borough he was not prepared to answer all of the questions that might arise at the session. Meanwhile, borough leaders and residents are divided on acceptance of the proposal.
