Local roundup: Results from June 28

The Berlinsville Braves recorded a victory in Blue Mountain League action on Wednesday.

In other summer baseball action, Krajcirik’s Automotive posted a win in Schuylkill Teener League play, while Tamaqua rolled to a lopsided win in the District 18 9-10-year-old Little League Tournament.

BLUE MTN. LEAGUE

Braves-Northern Yankees

The Berlinsville Braves turned back the Northern Yankees for a 4-2 win in Blue Mountain League action.

Jim Thorpe graduate Noah Snisky was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Braves (8-10), who erased a 2-0 deficit after the first inning. Former Palmerton standout Cole Serfass added a hit and scored twice, while Austin Mueller doubled and scored a run. Recent Bomber graduate Luke Netznik pitched the final two innings in relief to earn the save.

Northwestern graduate Derek Holmes was 1-for-2 with a double and run scored for the Braves (14-4), while fellow former Tiger Tyler Schreiner was 1-for-3.

LV LEGION

No. Valley-South Parkland

In the first game of a doubleheader, Jack Streeter’s fielder’s choice RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning proved to be the difference, as South Parkland edged Northern Valley 4-3 in LV Legion action.

Pinch-hitter Muhammad Curtis laced a single to right field to reach base for South Parkland, and got into scoring position on back-to-back stolen bases. With one out, and a 2-1 count, Streeter pushed the winning run across on a fielder’s choice out.

Sean Superka (single, double) and Brady Derr (two singles, RBI) both) had multiple hits for South Parkland.

Trailing 3-2, and one with out in the top of the seventh, Evan Druckenmiller walked, stole second, and eventually moved to third on a Robert Croneberger single for Northern Valley. He stole home to knot things up at 3-3, but couldn’t take the lead heading into the bottom half.

Druckenmiller (two singles, two runs scored) and Croneberger (two singles, RBI) finished with multiple hits in the loss.

South Parkland completed the sweep with an 11-4 victory in the second game.

Andrew Klotz sparked South Parkland, as the leadoff hitter collected a single, double, two runs scored and an RBI. Jaiden Wanamaker recorded two singles, a run scored and two RBIs.

Trey Sterling led the way for the Chargers, as he finished with a single, a run scored and an RBI. Andrew Diehl and Robert Croneberger followed behind, as both added a single and an RBI.

Krajcirik’s-Hope’s

Krajcirik’s Automotive rolled to a 15-2 win over Hope’s Collision in Schuylkill Teener League action.

Logan Fisher sparked Krajcirik’s, as the five-hole hitter was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. Fisher finished with a single, a double, a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Gavin Yuricheck followed suit with three singles, two runs scored and an RBI.

Brennan Kynkel (triple, an inside-the-park home run, three runs scored, three RBIs) and Connor Penberth (two singles, three runs scored, RBI) both ended up with multiple hits in the win.

Max Najarro recorded two singles and two runs scored for Hope’s.

Tamaqua cruised to a 32-0 victory over Towamensing in three innings.

G. Lutz sparked Tamaqua, as he recorded three singles, three runs scored and three RBIs, while B. Messerschmidt added three singles, three runs scored and two RBIs.

A. Graver, B. Bartczak, A. Barrett, B. Schultz, E. Shannon, K. Tirpak, J. Faust and J. Perez all had multiple hits in the win.
