Turnpike crashes

State police released information on crashes on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

No one was injured in three separate crashes that happened recently on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to state police.

The first one happened at May 27 at mile marker 71.6 in East Penn Township.

Police said a Ford Transit, operated northbound by Arnold M. Fields, 56, of Philadelphia, veered into the left lane, struck the passenger’s side front fender and wheel of a Chevrolet Suburban and fled.

The Suburban was operated by Kathryn E. Kodakowski, 46, of Doylestown.

Police said Fields left the scene and was later cited.

The second crash happened at 4:19 p.m. June 16 at mile marker 83.7 in Penn Forest Township and involved a hit-and-run vehicle.

Police said an unknown vehicle traveling north in the right lane struck the front passenger-side area of a Mercedes-Benz driven by Lawrence E. Tyrell, 19, of Smyrna, Delaware, and left the scene.

The third crash happened when a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Jacqueline Perry, 50, of Dallas, Luzerne County, struck a deer that entered the turnpike at mile marker 75.1 in Parryville Borough at 8:46 p.m. June 21.

Police said the woman drove to the Mahoning Valley Interchange to report the incident, after which time the vehicle was towed.

Danielsville man escapes crash injuries

• Adam A. Reichelderfer, 18, of Danielsville, escaped injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 11:29 a.m. June 25 on the turnpike.

State police at King of Prussia said it happened at mile marker 338.8 in Upper Dublin Township.

They said Reichelderfer was driving a Mercury Mountaineer westbound and was stopped in traffic when the vehicle was struck from behind by a Ford Focus driven by Alexandra M. Faccenda, 26, of Saratoga Springs, New York. Police said the impact caused the Mountaineer to strike the median and overturn. Faccenda was uninjured.

Police said both vehicles sustained major damages and were towed from the scene.

Faccenda was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, police said.

• No one was injured when a deer jumped over the center concrete barrier on the Northeast Extension of the turnpike and was struck by a vehicle.

State police said Megan L. Fink, 23, of Coplay, was driving a Lincoln when it hit a deer, coming to rest at mile marker 53.6 in Lower Macungie Township at on June 24.

Elizabeth C. Lamm, 27, of Walnutport, was a passenger in the vehicle.
