State police at the Fogelsville barracks said two men had more than $40,000 stolen from them in a theft by deception/credit-ATM card incident that was reported at 6:50 p.m. June 14.

It happened on Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township. The victims are a 71-year-old man from Macungie and a 39-year-old man from Germansville.

Police said someone altered checks by changing the “pay to the order of” lines on them. One of the checks was for $10,405.90 and the other was in the amount of $30,929.97, police said.
