A 69-year-old Saylorsburg woman had $14,000 stolen from her through Bitcoin, state police at the Stroudsburg said.

The theft was reported to them at 2:25 p.m. June 24. It happened at Clubhouse Road, Hamilton Township.

Police said the victim converted money in that amount to Bitcoin and allowed an unknown person access to the program, resulting in the loss.
