Carbon County Court Judge Joseph J. Matika has accepted four people into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program. Acceptance into the program is not an admission of guilt, and a person who successfully completes it may have his record expunged.
Edward M. Valentine Jr., 35, of Lehighton, was accepted for one year. He’ll pay $500 to offset the cost of the program, plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a $100 LiveScan fee; surrender his license for 30 days; complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and perform 50 hours of community service.
Valentine was charged with DUI, first offense; driving under the influence: highest rate of alcohol, first offense on Dec. 14, 2022.
Ronald Dave Yanchak, 53, of Scott Township, Allegheny County, was accepted for one year. He’ll pay $500 to offset the cost of the program, plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a $75 LiveScan fee; surrender his license for 30 days; complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and perform 50 hours of community service.
Yanchak was charged with DUI, first offense; driving under the influence: highest rate of alcohol, first offense; reckless driving, and careless driving on Oct. 29, 2022.
John J. Largacha Crespo, 29, of West New York, New Jersey, was accepted for six months. He’ll pay $650 to offset the cost of the program, plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a $100 LiveScan fee; and perform 25 hours of community service.
Largacha Crespo was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use; use or possession of drug paraphernalia; and violating the duties of a driver in an emergency response area - passing in a lane not adjacent to the area on July 3, 2022.
Renard Julio Tabron, 31, of Luzerne County, was accepted for one year. He’ll pay $650 to offset the cost of the program, plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a $100 LiveScan fee; surrender his license for 60 days; complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and perform 50 hours of community service.
Tabron was charged with DUI, first offense; terroristic threats; careless driving, and driving while his license was suspended or revoked on July 1, 2016.
