Dear Editor,

Raising property taxes on the elderly and retired are causing more and more elderly people to lose their homes. It often comes down to: not eating, pay to heat homes or much needed medications or pay their taxes!

If taxes continue to rise we’ll soon be like New York, New Jersey, California, etc., where people are forced to leave their homes due to poor governmental leadership.

Legislators have been promising for decades to reduce or eliminate taxes on the elderly, but no one has done anything.

We the elderly have paid our dues, all our lives. Now is the time for change!!
