Tamaqua Library hosts two children’s authors Monday

It’s getting dark, but Henry the frog wants to stay at the park, even when he hears his mother calling.

Children will listen and learn as an owl, a snake, and a coyote help teach Henry a valuable lesson: Parents always know best!

And Tommy, a little boy who just can’t let go of his old toys, books and stuffed animals, learns how giving to others, and recycling frees him from being fenced in by too much stuff.

On Monday, authors Ann Wlazelek and Margie Peterson will visit the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., to read their delightful stories to children.

The free event begins at noon.

“Henry Didn’t Listen” was created by Wlazelek’s mother, Gerda Fenstermaker, for her grandson, Brad Wlazelek, and written by Ann Wlazelek.

“The Boy Who Never Threw Anything Out” was written by Peterson, inspired by her now-grown son, Tommy Walters.

Both books were illustrated by Cheryl Bielli.

The authors will bring books to sell.

Both Wlazelek and Peterson worked as journalists at The Morning Call, Allentown.

The library can be contacted at 570-668-4660.
