State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following incidents:

• A 66-year-old man from West Pittston told police someone forced their way into the cabin along South Sycamore Drive through a back door. Police said nothing appeared to be taken before the suspects fled the scene.

A doorknob valued at $25 was damaged in the break-in.

• A 21-year-old Stroudsburg man is facing charges of drug possession and driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop.

Police stopped him for Motor Vehicle Code violations while he was driving a 2016 Honda Accord at 6:17 p.m. June 9 at the intersection of Manor Drive and Eureka Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said they detected a strong odor of a controlled substance, after which time the driver told them he uses drugs all the time. The man failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

• Police said Raynett Doman, 26, of Philadelphia, was charged on June 3 with criminal charges relating to the sale or transfer of a firearm.

Police said the charges relate to a previous incident where she entered Saber South, 2164 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township, and completed the application/record of sale paperwork. Police said she was subsequently denied the purchase after a check through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System.
