A Lansford man faces aggravated assault and other charges after stabbing a woman in the leg Wednesday afternoon.
Erik C. Speece, 38, of East Abbott Street, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, two counts; simple assault and harassment and remanded to the Carbon County prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
According to court papers, Lansford police responded to an East Abbott Street home for a physical domestic incident Wednesday at 4:20 p.m.
The victim related that Speece was extremely intoxicated, yelling and screaming at her.
While on the phone with Carbon County 911, the victim said Speece pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the right leg, court papers said.
Police took Speece into custody without incident, and the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police found the knife in the bottom of a kitchen garbage can.
A preliminary hearing before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek is scheduled Wednesday afternoon.
