Kunkletown man charged with aggravated assault

A Kunkletown man faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment after barricading himself inside a Lower Towamensing Township home Thursday.

Jeremy Scott Lutz, 41, was formerly arraigned by Magisterial District Judge William Kissner and bail was set at $100,000 cash.

State police troopers were dispatched to the residence just after 11 a.m. for a report of an assault in progress. When troopers arrived, police said, Lutz retreated inside the residence with a weapon.

The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team responded and took Lutz into custody without further incident.

Lutz is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in front of Kissner on July 5 at 10:30 a.m.
