A Slatington man has been charged with third-degree murder in the death of a four-month-old infant.

George C. Sutch, 56, was taken into custody without incident, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and awaits arraignment.

Slatington Police responded to a 911 call on Feb. 11 for an unresponsive infant where they found the boy, identified as L.A., not breathing. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and later pronounced dead there.

According to the news release, an investigation revealed the baby had severe head trauma and the injuries occurred during a violent shaking episode.
