State police at Fern Ridge

State police at Fern Ridge reported on several incidents:

• A 20-year-old Effort woman is the victim of a theft by deception incident in which she was “scammed” out of $2,500.

Police said it happened between midnight May 8 and midnight June 7 at Timberline Trail, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the woman paid someone that amount via Zell in an apartment rental scam.

• Police were summoned at 8:50 a.m. June 10 to investigate a criminal mischief incident along Westbrook Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 40-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman reported the front side window and rear passenger window on the driver’s side of their vehicle displayed a hole in each piece of glass. Police said they are unable to determine the source of the impact due to the manipulation by the victims before their arrival.

They said no items of value were stolen from the interior of the 2015 Jeep Patriot. They noted security footage did not show anyone approach the vehicle while it was in the driveway of the residence.

• Police were summoned at 6:30 p.m. June 10 to a property on Critter Lane, Jackson Township, to investigate a criminal mischief case.

A 53-year-old woman from Stroudsburg told police someone damaged the windshield of her 2014 Volkswagen with an unknown object and fled the scene.

The estimated damages are $500.

• Police were summoned to investigate an indecent assault incident that allegedly happened in 2016 at 22 Patten Circle, Penn Forest Township.

Police said the incident was reported to them through the ChildLine network and involved a 9-year-old girl from Albrightsville.

Police said the investigation was stopped at the request of the victim.

• Police are investigating a burglary that happened between Feb. 2 and midnight June 7 at a cabin located in Penn Forest Township.
