Developer requests zoning hearing in Rush

The Rush Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing to consider a request from a company that has developed real estate for third party tenants like Wawa, CVS and Starbucks.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. June 27 at the township municipal building, 104 Mahanoy Ave., Hometown.

According to a notice for the hearing, the board will consider a variance request from Provco Pineville Acquisitions LLC, of Villanova, for properties at 341 and 347 Claremont Ave. (Route 309) in Hometown.

The adjoining properties are across Route 309 from the Tide Road entrance to the Hometown Commons Shopping Plaza, which includes the Walmart Supercenter.

The request also applies to parcels of vacant land to the rear of 341 and 347 Claremont Ave. One of those parcels measures 17.2 acres. Schuylkill County property records show a garage on 347 Claremont Ave., and a beer store at 341 Claremont Ave.

Owners are 347 Claremont LLC; PA Bates LLC; Kory B. Bates Jr.; Joseph C. Franko and David Russo.

Provco Pinebrook did not return a call for comment.

According to its website, Provco’s “main focus is targeting new commercial real estate properties.”

It notes that “Provco redevelops underutilized sites and acquires desirable real estate for development and use by third party tenants like Wawa, CVS, Starbucks and others.”
