Man loses consciousness in Monroe incident

State police at Fern Ridge said an Albrightsville man lost consciousness while operating a vehicle at 7:57 p.m. June 7 on Twisted Oak Lane, Chestnuthill Township, resulting in his vehicle striking a tree.

Police said Dennis M. Haslach, 38, was driving a 2013 Dodge Dart northwest when he suffered a medical condition that caused him to go unconscious. Police said the Dart traveled backward along the right lane, striking a curb and traveling about 45 feet into the woods where it struck a tree.

Police said a passer-by observed the car in the woods and made contact with Haslach, who was nonresponsive. Police said the passer-by awakened Haslach but he did not recall what had taken place, who he was, or where he was traveling.

Personnel from the West End Community Ambulance transported the Haslach to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

Police said the car was removed from the scene by its own power.

• Police said a motorcycle struck a deer on Toll Road in Chestnuthill Township at 8:14 p.m. June 4, after which time the operator fled the scene before police arrived.

Police said Nathan M. Miller, 22, of Lehighton, was operating the 1996 Suzuki when it hit the deer and he and the cycle slid on the road for approximately 80 feet before the cycle caught fire.

Police said the cycle was towed from the scene

They did not know if Miller was injured but said he was cited for the crash.
