Country Inn and Suites announced its newest hotel, located off Exit 74 of the Northeast extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Franklin Township, is near completion and will start accepting guests next month.

The project is the longtime dream of owner Fred Lesher of Palmerton, who said the business will improve the local economy and provide places for people to stay to promote tourism.

His crew of 30-40 men are busy putting the final touches on the facility, which includes siding, painting, hanging drapes, installing carpet and work on the pool.
