Rafael A. Batista VII, 30, of Coaldale, was injured in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash at 10:45 p.m. June 6 on Meixsell Valley Road in Eldred Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance Service to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

Police said he was operating a 2009 Yamaha east when a deer ran across the roadway and was struck by the cycle, resulting in Batista falling off the vehicle. The cycle was towed from the scene.

Police said Batista was cited for operating a motor vehicle while his operating privileges are suspended or revoked.
