June 10, 1983 - Three local boxers all post victories during a card held at the Palmerton Middle School. The trio all fight out of Sonny Mistretta’s Twin Mountain Boxing Club. Jake Dempsey wins by decision in his 147-pound bout against Jim Oharo. The fight was the third of the 23-year-old’s amateur career. Steve Mistretta gains a technical knockout in his 126-pound bout versus Miguel Diaz. The 18-year-old Mistretta administers punishing blows to start the second round, and the referee stops the match 26 seconds into that round. Bob Romig, a 22-year-old, caps the evening’s card with a knockout of Mark Pastorella 34 seconds into the third round.
